World Maps - Solomon Islands

Solomon Islands - Continent Oceania - Oceania represents a group of islands dispersed in the Pacific Ocean, mostly in the southern hemisphere, over a surface area of 8.5 million km².
From the vast Australian continent to the little Vanuatan and Tongan nations or the vast territories of Papua New Guinea and New Zealand, these territories cover areas of very different sizes.
Oceania is defined by two large climatic zones. The first, which is temperate, prevails in New Zealand and a large part of Australia; the second, which is tropical, prevails in the Pacific islands. Being subjected to trade winds, the region is frequently shaken by violent tropical cyclones.
Only New Zealand and Australia have developed a modern and diversified economy; the other islands remain hardly or not at all industrialized.
