World Maps - South Asia

South Asia - Asia is traditionally divided into several geographical zones: east, south-east, south, central and north-east.
The Far East comprises China, Japan, and South and North Korea. Southeast Asia includes three archipelagos with Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.
Geologically speaking, Asia is a very active continent. Large areas of Asia are covered by mountainous and volcanic chains. Asia may be divided into a monsoon area in the south, the south-east and the east, and an arid to semi-arid area in the center.
Many languages are spoken in Asia. In the Far East, the most commonly spoken languages are Mandarin, Cantonese and Wu Chinese. In Southeast Asia, Bahasa Indonesia and Malay are predominant.
